An annual boiler service keeps your heating safe and efficient and can catch small faults before they become breakdowns. Here is what it typically costs and what to expect on the day.
An annual boiler service is typically £70 - £100 including VAT. A call-out fee applies on top, worked out from the distance between our East London base and your postcode, and shown before you pay.
An engineer inspects the boiler and flue, checks for leaks and corrosion, tests safety devices, checks pressure and controls, and cleans key components. Ask your engineer for a written record of what was checked.
Regular servicing helps keep a boiler running efficiently, reduces the risk of breakdowns in cold weather, and is often needed to keep a manufacturer's warranty valid. Check your warranty terms.
A boiler service is not the same as a landlord gas safety certificate. Landlords must have gas appliances checked each year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A gas safety certificate (CP12) is typically £60 - £90 including VAT.
Only a Gas Safe registered engineer should service a gas boiler. You can ask to see their Gas Safe ID card, which shows what they are qualified to work on.
Most manufacturers recommend an annual service. Check your boiler manual and warranty terms.
